SYNOPSIS: Zack Connors and Rachel Meadows were born with incredible psychokinetic capabilities. When word of their supernatural talents gets out, they find themselves the prisoners of Michael Slovak, a deranged doctor intent on harvesting their powers. After a daring escape, they are free from his sinister institution, but the corrupt doctor will stop at nothing to track them down so that he may continue to siphon their gifts for his own use.

RLJ ENTERTAINMENT ACQUIRES “THE MIND’S EYE”

Filmmaker Joe Begos’ Follow-Up Feature to “Almost Human”

RLJ Entertainment (NASDAQ: RLJE) has acquired all North American rights to the thriller, THE MIND’S EYE. Written and directed by Joe Begos, the film reunites him with his ALMOST HUMAN film star Graham Skipper, along with cast members Lauren Ashley Carter (Premium Rush, The Woman), John Speredakos (The House of the Devil), and Noah Segan (Some Kind of Hate, Looper).  RLJE plans to release THE MIND’S EYE in theaters and On Demand later this year.  Mark Ward, RLJ Entertainment’s Chief Acquisitions Officer, made the announcement today.  

THE MIND’S EYE made its world premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and won the award for Best Director, Horror Feature at the 2015 Fantastic Fest.

“Joe has an amazing eye and a clear love of old-school genre films,” said Ward.  “His first feature had a cult following, and we are excited to share his new vision of horror with audiences.”

When Zack and Rachel, who both have telekinetic powers, are discovered by Dr. Slovak, they think they have found someone who wants to help them.  But they soon learn that Dr. Slovak’s real intentions are to drain their abilities from them so he can use them for himself.  Now, they must work together to stop this madman from achieving his goals.

THE MIND’S EYE is produced by Joe Begos (Almost Human), Josh Ethier (Digging Up the Marrow), Graham Skipper (Almost Human), and Zak Zeman (V/H/S).

“A CHRISTMAS HORROR STORY”

LOS ANGELES, July 17, 2015 - RLJ Entertainment, (NASDAQ: RLJE), under its Image Entertainment brand, has acquired all U.S. rights to the highly anticipated horror film, A CHRISTMAS HORROR STORY.  Directed by Steven Hoban (Darknet), Grant Harvey (She Made Me Do It) and Brett Sullivan (Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed), the film stars William Shatner (Star Trek) and George Buza (X-Men).  The film will premiere on July 20, 2015 at this year’s Fantasia Film Festival. Mark Ward, RLJ Entertainment’s Chief Acquisitions Officer, made the announcement today.  

“A CHRISTMAS HORROR STORY brings a scary twist to the traditional Christmas tale,” said Ward. “With the legendary William Shatner and horribly fantastic creatures, genre fans will never see this happy holiday the same way again.”

“We are so happy that Mark Ward and his helper elves at RLJ Entertainment, are releasing this film in the US," said Hoban.  "We couldn't have hoped for better accomplices in our efforts to bring terrifying fun to the holidays."

CHRISTMAS: a time of Joy, Peace and Goodwill, unless you happen to live in the town of Bailey Downs.  Here, on Christmas Eve, joy is corrupted when a malevolent spirit traps three teens in a school basement intent on recreating a twisted version of the Nativity story.  Peace is shattered when a family returns from a snowy forest with the perfect Christmas tree only to find something is terrifyingly wrong with their seven-year-old son.  And goodwill is perverted when a not-so-nice family is hunted down by Krampus, the demonic anti-Santa Claus of Nordic mythology. Even Santa Claus himself is drawn into the horror when he has to fight off a horde of howling Zombie Elves before making his rounds.  This Christmas, the creatures are stirring and they’re coming for you whether you’re naughty or nice.

A CHRISTMAS HORROR STORY was produced by Copperheart Entertainment’s Steve Hoban (Splice) and Mark Smith (388 Arletta Avenue) and executive produced by David Hayter (“World War III”).  Mark Ward of RLJ Entertainment negotiated the deal with Paradigm Talent Agency on behalf of the filmmakers.
