THE OCCULT, BRAZILIAN FOLKLORE AND BLACK SLAVERY INSPIRE THIS HORROR FILM, THE DEVIL LIVES HERE

The Occult, Brazilian Folklore and Black Slavery - the Inspiration for the Horror Film, The Devil Lives Here
The film to be released on DVD and VOD December 13, 2016

Four teenagers get caught up in the midst of a deadly war between dark, ancient forces in a far away countryhouse in The Devil Lives Here (aka: O Diabo Mora Aqui, The Fostering). The film enjoyed a world-wide festival run (including Sitges Film Festival, Morbido FilmFest, Brussels International Film Festival) and was the winner of Best Foreign Film at the 2016 FilmQuest. According to Scream Horror Mag the film, “Grabs you by the throat and rattles your nerves in a manner not at all unlike a Sam Raimi flick. The Devil Lives Here is the most beautiful nightmare you’re likely to have in a while.”

Three friends, Ale, Magu and Jorge, go on a trip to visit their friend Apolo at his family’s farm for a weekend of fun. At the same time, Sebastião and his younger brother Luciano are getting ready to perform the spiritual ritual their family has been tasked with every nine months, for centuries. On the night the two groups meet, they find out that what they thought were scary tales becomes more than real. It is now up to them to prevent evil to be born and take over the world.

REMAKE OF 1974 CLASSIC "VAMPYRES" IS COMING SOON TO DVD AND STREAMING THANKS TO ARTSPLOITATION FILMS (IMAGES NSFW)

Remake of 1974 Classic Vampyres Coming Soon to DVD and Streaming
Faithful to the sexy, twisted 1974 cult classic by Joseph Larraz, Vampyres is an English-language tale that pulsates with raw eroticism, wicked sado-masochism and bloody, creative gore. Director Victor Matellano (Wax, 2014; Zarpazos! A Journey through Spanish Horror, 2013) sets his story in a stately English manor inhabited by two older lesbian vampires and with their only cohabitant being a man imprisoned in the basement. Their lives and lifestyle are upended when a trio of campers come upon their lair and seek to uncover their dark secrets, a decision that has sexual and blood-curdling consequences. The film is infused with eloquent and atmospheric cinematography, impressive special effects makeup from master Colin Arthur (The Neverending Story, Conan the Barbarian, 2001: A Space Odyssey) and stars screen genre icon Caroline Munro (The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, At the Earth's Core, The Spy Who Loved Me, Maniac, Slaughter High).
CRITICAL RESPONSE:
“Atmospheric, surreal, and intense…Reminiscent of Jess Franco.”  – Tyler Doupe´,WickedHorror
“Marta Flich as Fran is every inch an alluring seductress, and her lover Miriam, played by Almudena León, exceeds her in malice even as she equals her in pulchritude. This is an exploitation film, after all. You want kissing and sex and blood? You’ve got it in spades. Throats are slit, faces are bitten, and arms are gashed aplenty…Bring on the sequel. – Dave Dubrow, TheSlaughteredBird
“Visually very powerful…full of violence, cruelty and flesh.” – SpanishFear.com
“A blood-infused exploitation horror...disturbing and definitely not for the faint-of-heart.” –Movie-Blogger.com

"A guilty pleasure if ever there was one, and far more enjoyable and to-the-point than Vampyros Lesbos. - Ron Gonsalves, EFilmCritic

VAMPYRES will be released October 18, 2016 on DVD and VOD/Streaming

ARTSPLOITATION FILMS TO RELEASE PSYCHOLOGICAL HORROR THRILLER OBSERVANCE THIS AUGUST

Psychological Horror Thriller OBSERVANCE to be Released on DVD/Blu-ray

With the dread-infused claustrophobia of Polanski's The Tenant, the taut voyeurism of Hitchcock's Rear Window, and the horrific visuals founds in the works of Cronenberg, Joseph Sims-Dennett's Observance is one seriously intense thriller. The English-language Observance will be released on DVD and Blu-ray (and exclusive streaming on Vimeo) August 2, 2016, and on most major VOD outlets beginning October 11th.

  • “Captivates the viewer...with some terrifying moments that would make David Cronenberg proud. — bloody-disgusting.com
  • “Sheer ambient dread.” — Indiewire

IS AMERICA READY FOR A SEXUALLY DEVIANT BUNNY?

Is America Ready for a Rampaging Sexually Deviant Bunny?

If American did not self-implode when Donald Trump proclaimed his appendage was nothing short of monumental, than sure, America and all its genre film-loving fans will welcome star of BUNNY THE KILLER THING- a six foot tall fucking and killing rabbit with an 18-inch long schlong.

Artsploitation Films, in conjunction with FilmRise, has released the Finnish horror comedy on DVD and Blu-ray March 22nd and the film will enjoy its VOD premiere on most of the prime VOD outlets beginning May 16, 2016.

Filmed mostly in English by promising young director Joonas Makkonen, the bloody hilarious spoof follows a group of young adults who head to a remote cabin for a winter weekend. But soon they are confronted a half man, half creature who is compelled to stick his dangerously large penis into anything that resembles female genitals. Naked women (and men) are forced to flee into the snowy wilderness, Blood is soon shed and all kinds of human orifices are violated as the vocabulary-challenged Mr. Bunny ("Pussy!" is the limit of his words)  wreaks havoc on the unsuspecting vacationers. Equal parts camp, gore, and comedy, Bunny has been described as, “Goofy, irreverent, and delightfully perverted” by cinemaslasher.com

Artsploitation’s Ray Murray warns concerned parents, cinematic conservatives and sense-of-humor-deprived feminists that Bunny can be seen as a horribly offensive film that wallows in scenes of rape, gratuitous nudity, bloody murders and all forms of sexual depravity. But for amoral genre film fans it is simply a hilarious, inventive and blood-drenched spoof of monster movies...with gratuitous nudity.

BUNNY THE KILLER THING POUNCES INTO ARTSPLOITATION'S 2016 LINE-UP!

Finland, a land known for its fjords, saunas and Aki Kaurismäki will soon be famous as the home of one sexually ravenous killer rabbit. Toronto’s Raven Banner and US-based distributor Artsploitation Films announced today an all-rights deal for Joonas Makkonen’s Bunny the Killer Thing for the United States. The decidedly un-pc horror/comedy had its North American premiere at the Fantasia Film Festival in July and Artsploitation plans to release the film on Blu-ray/DVD in early 2016 with FilmRise handling the film's VOD release.

A rabbit is very cute; a killer rabbit is kind of scary; a 6 foot tale killer rabbit is pretty frightening; and a perpetually horny 6 foot tall killer rabbit with an abnormally long penis and only a one-word vocabulary (“Pussy!”) is absolutely terrifying.
The bloody hilarious spoof follows a group of young adults who head to a remote cabin for a winter weekend. But soon they are confronted a half man, half creature who is after anything that resembles female genitals. Blood is shed and bras are shredded as Mr. Bunny wreaks havoc on the unsuspecting vacationers. Equal parts camp, gore, and comedy, Bunny has been described as, “Goofy, irreverent, and delightfully perverted” by cinemaslasher.com

Artsploitation’s Ray Murray said, “Depending on your view, Bunny is either a horribly offensive film wallowing in scenes of rape, nudity and sexual depravity or is a hilarious, inventive and blood-drenched spoof of monster movies. We hope most will side with the latter.” Sonia Lowe of Raven Banner commented, “We are proud to partner with Artsploitation for U.A. distribution with assurances that Bunny the Killer Thing is in good hands!”

THIS IS NOT YOUR TYPICAL HORROR MOVIE!??

Warning: THIS IS NOT THE TYPICAL ARTSPLOITATION HORROR FILM!
We here at Artsploitation Films love international horror and thrillers. It is our cinematic bread and butter. But we also watch and like art films and controversial films. And this is where THE SUMMER HOUSE lies. It is a thoughtful and ultimately devastating psychological thriller about a married man's sexual obsession with a young boy. Think American Beauty, Lolita, and most of all, Death in Venice.

The storyline definitely makes for uncomfortable viewing. But the acting is exceptional and the film offers a devastating conclusion. An intriguing film for adventurous film-goers not put off by its indelicate theme.

Not for you? Skip it, we have some amazing horror films coming in September!
