REMAKE OF 1974 CLASSIC "VAMPYRES" IS COMING SOON TO DVD AND STREAMING THANKS TO ARTSPLOITATION FILMS (IMAGES NSFW)

Remake of 1974 Classic Vampyres Coming Soon to DVD and Streaming
Faithful to the sexy, twisted 1974 cult classic by Joseph Larraz, Vampyres is an English-language tale that pulsates with raw eroticism, wicked sado-masochism and bloody, creative gore. Director Victor Matellano (Wax, 2014; Zarpazos! A Journey through Spanish Horror, 2013) sets his story in a stately English manor inhabited by two older lesbian vampires and with their only cohabitant being a man imprisoned in the basement. Their lives and lifestyle are upended when a trio of campers come upon their lair and seek to uncover their dark secrets, a decision that has sexual and blood-curdling consequences. The film is infused with eloquent and atmospheric cinematography, impressive special effects makeup from master Colin Arthur (The Neverending Story, Conan the Barbarian, 2001: A Space Odyssey) and stars screen genre icon Caroline Munro (The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, At the Earth's Core, The Spy Who Loved Me, Maniac, Slaughter High).
CRITICAL RESPONSE:
“Atmospheric, surreal, and intense…Reminiscent of Jess Franco.”  – Tyler Doupe´,WickedHorror
Marta Flich as Fran is every inch an alluring seductress, and her lover Miriam, played by Almudena León, exceeds her in malice even as she equals her in pulchritude. This is an exploitation film, after all. You want kissing and sex and blood? You’ve got it in spades. Throats are slit, faces are bitten, and arms are gashed aplenty…Bring on the sequel. – Dave Dubrow, TheSlaughteredBird
“Visually very powerful…full of violence, cruelty and flesh.” – SpanishFear.com
“A blood-infused exploitation horror...disturbing and definitely not for the faint-of-heart.”Movie-Blogger.com

"A guilty pleasure if ever there was one, and far more enjoyable and to-the-point than Vampyros Lesbos. - Ron Gonsalves, EFilmCritic

Artistic Films presents VAMPYRES first trailer and poster. A new approach to José Ramón Larraz’s classic universe, directed by Víctor Matellano, from a  story by Larraz himself, and produced by Ángel Mora.

VAMPYRES project was introduced at Sitges Film Festival one year ago. Being born as José Ramón Larraz’s desire is now finished and ready for worldwide sales processes. It is a new view of Larraz’s world of sex and blood reflected in the original VAMPYRES (Las hijas de Drácula), an English cult movie. In fact, the thing he was working on before passing away was the co-writing of this remake.

VAMPYRES is Víctor Matellano’s new feature film after CLAWING! A JOURNEY THROUGH THE SPANISH HORROR and WAX. Leading the cast we find Caroline Munro, cult figure from classics such as Maniac or Captain Kronos, together with Christian Stamm, Verónica P. Bacorn, Anthony Rotsa and Luis Hacha, being Marta Flich and Almudena León the two terrifying female vampires.  There are also some Eurohorror celebrities such as May Heatherly (Pieces), Antonio Mayans (Oasis of the Zombies), Lone Fleming (Tombs of the Blind Dead), Conrado San Martín (The Awful Dr. Orloff) and Fele Martínez (Tesis). Colin Arthur is in charge of the FX (The Never Ending Story, Conan) as he did in the original movie.
