ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE COLLABORATES WITH
FIRESTONE WALKER BREWING ON NEW BEER
INSPIRED BY LEGENDARY PICTURES AND UNIVERSAL PICTURES'CRIMSON PEAK

Limited-batch brew celebrating director Guillermo del Toro's upcoming gothic romance available at Alamo Drafthouse locations starting in October

The Alamo Drafthouse and Firestone Walker Brewing are pleased to announce the release of their first-ever collaboration, "Crimson Peak Ale." Inspired by Guillermo del Toro's upcoming gothic romance CRIMSON PEAK, this limited-batch beer will be available in stores and on taps starting in October, including Alamo Drafthouse locations nationwide. And, to hold this tasty blood-hued brew, Alamo collaborated with Mondo to offer a limited-edition CRIMSON PEAK pint glass, which features original artwork by Guy Davis.  Legendary Pictures and Universal Pictures' CRIMSON PEAK arrives in theaters on October 16.

"Guillermo del Toro is one of the most imaginative filmmakers working today, and the release of the gothic romance CRIMSON PEAK is definitely cause for celebration," said Alamo Drafthouse founder and CEO Tim League. "Firestone Walker is one of the best breweries in the nation. So we jumped at the chance to collaborate on a beer to mark this occasion with something special."
The creation of "Crimson Peak Ale" was a true collaborative process, which took place over several months and culminating last August when members of the Alamo Beer Team traveled to Firestone Walker's home base of Paso Robles, California.

"It was a pleasure having the folks from Drafthouse out to Paso Robles and getting to know them by brewing beer, breaking bread and sharing pints - there is no better way," said Firestone Walker Brewmaster, Matthew Brynildson. "Plus, it's been a real honor to collaborate on a brew to support this movie."

Perfect for the early fall season, "Crimson Peak" is a light-bodied ale that derives its refreshingly tart taste and striking red color from an unusual ingredient: hibiscus flowers. In fact, the ale incorporates massive amounts of them-more than 200 pounds.

"Sourcing hibiscus flowers and integrating them into a brew was an eye-opening experience," Brynildson explained. "But it created the perfect effect: a ruby-crimson color, lemony-tart and berry-rich flavor and a clean citrus-flowery finish that begs for another sip."

CRIMSON PEAK opens October 16 at select Alamo Drafthouse locations.  Visit drafthouse.com for tickets and more information.
