FIRST LOOK: FANGORIA EXCLUSIVE TRAILER FOR NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: DARKEST DAWN. NEW ANIMATED DEAD FILM!

The living dead stalk again through a long-in-the-works animated feature that boasts a number of Fango faves in its voice cast, and is now poised to break out. We’ve got an exclusive first look at the trailer and images from the movie past the jump!

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: DARKEST DAWN, originally known as NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: ORIGINS, is “an animated retelling of the original NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD film set in modern-day New York City rather than 1960s rural Pennsylvania,” according to the official synopsis. This adaptation “centers on a group of desperate survivors fighting to stay alive barricaded in an abandoned apartment building. Confined, cut off from the world and under constant attack from the undead hordes closing in around them, the six main characters struggle to survive while also confronting their own sense of compassion and humanity.”

Zebediah De Soto and Krisztian Majdik directed the film, which features the voices of Tony Todd as Ben (the role he also played in Tom Savini’s NIGHT remake), Danielle Harris as Barbara, Bill Moseley as Johnny, DAY OF THE DEAD’s Joseph Pilato as Harry Cooper and Tom Sizemore as Chief McClelland, along with Alona Tal, Madhavan, Sarah Habel and Luann De Soto. A special premiere will be announced very soon, and release plans will be firmed up shortly thereafter. The producers are seeking fan support for the distribution, with the goal to get the movie into as many drive-ins (where the original NIGHT first terrorized audiences) as possible, along with hardtop theaters and VOD.
