This past weekend Josh Stewart star of The Collector Series, The Dark Knight Rises and various television shows took part in Monster Mania, a horror movie convention that's nestled in the not so many hills of Cherry Hill, NJ.
Now many people who attend this convention only attend it cause of the fact that the Walking Dead cast members are usually brought in to help promote the upcoming seasons but there is always the little gems like Stewart that hold more fan power than the Walking Dead castees. Yours truly had one question to ask Stewart and it didn't deal with the subject matter here. I wanted to find out if he would confirm or deny that he was Deadshot in the Dark Knight Rises. (He nodded his head yes but said that's the rumor. I fangasmed!!!!!!)
But he was there to help promote the movie he produced and directed called "The Hunted". But once he got talking about things he let leak that the Collector series was going to become a trilogy now. As a third film has been commissioned by LD Entertainment. Now when we pressed for some details all he could say is that its in the scripting stages as of right now but he has been contacted to reprise his role of Arkin O'Brien, the character who went through hell and back to save a little girl from the Collector even though he was trying to rob her family blind only to be tossed into a box at the end of the film to escape from the Collector in The Collection but again getting abducted and forced to help a wealthy man get his daughter back after she is taken by the Collector. Now if you saw the Collection we are left with an open ending not knowing what happened to the Collector after Arkin got to him.
Could we finally see Arkin's true dark side come out as he looks for revenge or does this mean someone else has taken up the mantle of the Collector? I know a few months back director Marcus Dunstan, whose writing credentials consist of Saw 5, 6 and 7, Piranha 3DD and the entire Feast Franchise and currently he's hard to work on the God of War script, yes the video game is coming to the big screen sometime in the near future. Dunstan was talking about a possible Collector origin story so who knows what we will see but I will be there for this film.
