ELI ROTH TEAMS UP WITH MONGABAY & PRIZEO FOR NATIONAL AWARENESS & FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR AMAZON RAINFOREST SUPPORT

ELI ROTH’S ‘THE GREEN INFERNO’ TEAMS UP WITH MONGABAY AND PRIZEO FOR NATIONAL AWARENESS AND FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN TO SUPPORT THE AMAZON RAINFOREST

Leading rainforest information web site Mongabay and charity fundraising platform Prizeo are teaming up with BH Tilt and Eli Roth’s The Green Inferno to create an awareness and fundraising campaign to bring attention to the destruction of the Amazon rainforest. The fundraising campaign also includes a national education and awareness component tied to a multi-city Eli Roth fan appreciation tour.

The campaign aims to directly conserve at least 10,000 acres of rainforest -- an area 12 times the size of New York City's Central Park -- and publish 100 stories that reach upwards of a million people. With the proceeds of this campaign, Mongabay will establish a journalism fund to produce stories on threats facing indigenous people and forests in the Amazon. Mongabay will also distribute funds to non-profit organizations working with indigenous people to protect forests and cultures in the Peruvian Amazon.

Donors at Prizeo.com/GreenInferno will be automatically entered into a sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip for 2 to LA to have lunch with Eli Roth, tour the Crypt TV studio and be treated to a private screening. Donations start at $5 an entry, and people can choose to donate higher amounts in exchange for additional entries. Rewards include movie props and memorabilia, a development deal with Crypt TV (http://www.crypttv.com/) and even a custom prop of your head on a spike. For more information please go to: www.prizeo.com/Eli.

Mongabay CEO and Founder Rhett Butler said: “Although this may seem an unconventional partnership for Mongabay, it presents us with a great opportunity to connect with a highly engaged and socially aware audience around issues that are directly relevant to all of us. We have speaking with BH Tilt and Eli Roth for several weeks and it’s clear that we have the support of a filmmaker who cares passionately about the issues that Mongabay stands for.”

Prizeo Chief Operating Officer Alexandra Ducocq said: "We are excited to collaborate with such remarkable partners, BH Tilt, Eli Roth and Mongabay's Rhett Butler, to bring greater awareness to such an important cause."

Eli Roth said: “I’m thrilled to be partnering with two terrific organizations that will help fans channel their goodwill towards helping the unprotected tribes of the Amazon in a truly effective way.  Horror films have always provoked discussion by pointing out a social injustice in the world, and I made The Green Inferno to spark discussion and bring awareness to the devastation these tribes face at the hands of corporations. While my film is a work of fiction, sadly what is going on in the Amazon is all too real, and after we screened the film for Mongabay we all agreed that we could use the film's publicity to help connect fans with them and support the incredible work they’re doing to help the rainforest and protect the people who live there peacefully.”
In The Green Inferno, a group of student activists travels to the Amazon to save the rainforest and soon discover that they are not alone, and that no good deed goes unpunished. The film is being released nationwide by BH Tilt on September 25.

The short film stars Nick Principe (Laid to Rest, Hatchet II) and Jaquelyn Fabian. It's written and directed by newcomer Alex DiVincenzo.
"The premiere of The Horrors of AutoCorrect is a long time coming," says DiVincenzo. "I owe everything to my dedicatd cast and crew for helping to make it happen. I cannot thank Crypt TV enough for believing in the project. As an admirer of Eli Roth's work, it's an honor to be working with him." DiVincenzo is currently working on his next short, a '50s throwback titled Trouser Snake.

In The Horrors of AutoCorrect, Jenny's quiet evening at home watching a scary movie is interrupted by a stalker who can't quite master the art of text messaging. The result is a "sidesplitting, clever commentary on contemporary communication" (All Things Horror) that pays homage to such genre favorites as Scream and A Nightmare on Elm Street 2.

Eli Roth Champions Shock Value Director to do Hallovine!!!!!

6 second scares! Original series brought to you by the #CryptFamily! Follow us on Twitter/Insta: @fearthecrypt. Email: team@fearthecrypt.com A dark, horrifying place!

Eli Roth is championing Shock Value's director Doug Rath and got him to be part of their #HalloVine takeover of Vine and Twitter. The Vine video has just gone live and is already over 42,000 views. Let's give it a few MORE!!!!!

Eli Roth has been an ardent supporter of the genre and has made some of the most visceral horror movies of our generation. So it’s only fitting that he is now employing the latest technology to help further the cause and put horror in as many hands as possible.

Roth’s technology project, The Crypt, which launched earlier this year, is an iPhone app where aspiring filmmakers and horror fans can experience the genre on mobile. You can download The Crypt iPhone app from iTunes.

For this Halloween, The Crypt is bringing together 13 genre directors for The Crypt’s 13 Days of #HalloVine! Each day a different director will take over The Crypt’s Twitter, Vine, Instagram, and Facebook accounts and The Crypt app to give fans the chance to interact with their favorite directors and find out what inspired their love of horror.

13 Days of #HalloVine begins today, October 3rd, and ends on October 15th with Eli Roth himself. Find these scary Vines by following The Crypt on Vine or checking out any of The Crypt’s social media channels:
