WITNESS THE RISE OF A DARK LORD

Witness The Rise Of A Dark Lord In DARTH VADER #1 – Coming in June!
Charles Soule & Giuseppe Camuncoli Bring You Darth Vader As You’ve Never Seen Before!

The most fearsome villain in the entire galaxy returns for an all-new series! Today, Marvel Entertainment and Lucasfilm Ltd. are pleased to announce a new beginning for one of the most popular Star Wars™ comic book series! This June, prepare for DARTH VADER #1 – the all-new ongoing series coming to a comic shop near you! Superstar writer Charles Soule (Poe Dameron, Astonishing X-Men) will team with chartbusting artist Giuseppe Camuncoli (Amazing Spider-Man) to chronicle the epic rise of one of the greatest villains in all of fiction!

“I’m so excited that we get to tell more stories about the best villain of all time…and this time, we get to show his very first steps into the Dark Side,” said series editor, Jordan D. White. “I was blown away by some of the stuff we plan to show in this series…and I think readers will be, too—from hardcore Star Wars fanatics to those who want to see more of that deadly threat from the end of Rogue One.  Charles has an evil streak in him that readers might have seen whenever he’s written Palpatine in the past. Now, that comes front and center.”

When Anakin Skywalker fell, both to the pull of the dark side and to the blade of Obi-Wan Kenobi, he rose back up, more machine than man. Having lost everything that he once held dear, the one who was prophesized to bring balance to the Force instead chose a darker path. Now, in a story set directly after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, he must take his first steps into a darker world as…Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith!

Witness iconic moments in the Star Wars galaxy through the lens of one of its most famous characters! The construction of Vader’s red lightsaber, the fallout of Order 66, the beginnings of the Inquisitor program, and the rise of an Empire. Join Vader as he learns a new way. The way of Darth Sidious…the way of the dark side.

This June, the Marvel’s smash-hit Star Wars comics venture to a new era of a galaxy far, far away! Take a walk on the dark side as Soule & Camuncoli bring you the must read DARTH VADER #1 – available wherever comics are sold this June!

CURSE WORDS CASTS ITS SPELL

CURSE WORDS CASTS ITS SPELL New series from Soule and Browne set to launch in January 2017
Bestselling writer Charles Soule (Daredevil, Death of Wolverine, Star Wars) and artist Ryan Browne (GOD HATES ASTRONAUTS) team up for an all-new ongoing series CURSE WORDS, set to launch from Image Comics in January 2017.
In the series, a wizard appears one day in New York City, claiming he's here to protect the planet from dark magical forces bent on its destruction. The world falls in love with Wizord and his slick sorcerous ways - after all, we've never had a wizard before. Everything's great! But it's not. Wizord is actually fleeing an extremely dark past, and it's only a matter of time before that evil comes calling. CURSE WORDS is a gonzo modern fantasy, full of shadows, light… and magic.
"Ryan Browne and I wanted to create a series where literally anything could happen, and giving the story a magical framework lets us do that,” said Soule. “Curse Words constantly surprises me with what happens next, and I'm writing the thing. Ultimately, it's the story of a man trying to be good in a world that wants him to be bad—but it's also got a talking koala. That's Curse Words. Deep, wrenching, relatable character beats mixed with some of the most wonderful, strangest things you've ever seen in a comic. Even better, it's all drawn by the Incredible Ryan Browne—so you know it's pretty."

Browne added: "Thank goodness for Charles' words. I would buy Him writing the phone book. I draw. But His words! So good."

CURSE WORDS is Lord of the Rings meets Breaking Bad. A color-saturated, anything-goes dark fantasy romp about the coolest, most charming evil wizard you've ever met in your life. It is, in a word, magical.

CURSE WORDS #1 Cover A by Browne (Diamond Code NOV160537) and Cover B by Skottie Young (Diamond Code NOV160538) hits stores on Wednesday, January 18th. The final order cutoff for comics retailers is Monday, December 19th.

DEATH OF X IGNITES THE FEUD BETWEEN MUTANTS & INHUMANS

DEATH OF X #1 Ignites the Feud Between Mutants & Inhumans!

The X-Men and the Inhumans are on a collision course. Cyclops is missing and presumed dead. But the question on everyone’s lips is “why”? That question and more will be answered in DEATH OF X #1 – a new 4-issue series launching this fall! Superstar creators Jeff Lemire (Extraordinary X-Men) and Charles Soule (Uncanny Inhumans) are joined by fan-favorite artist Aaron Kuder (Action Comics) for an incendiary tale that will change the course of Mutantkind and Inhumanity alike!
As the Terrigen Mists roll across the Earth, it’s transformative properties are birthing new Inhumans across the Marvel Universe. But while the mists bring life to the Inhumans, they spell only doom for the X-Men, leaving dead or sickly mutants in their wake. As the Inhumans travel to Japan where the Terrigen Cloud has created a shocking new Inhuman, the X-Men travel to Muir Island where the cloud has caused something truly terrible. For the sake of his people, Cyclops must take action or face extinction.

But how?

“Right now things are not good for mutantkind,” says Jeff Lemire, speaking with Entertainment Weekly. “On the flipside, Inhumans have been growing and becoming more prominent in the Marvel Universe. There is a lot of tension between these characters about that…’
“For both sides of this, it doesn’t affect just a small group of them,” continues Charles Soule. “It’s not just their livelihood and way of life but their very lives at stake, so they’re going to react the way you think they would.”

The burning questions will be answered here as the Inhumans and the X-Men’s untold past comes to light. But with the fuse lit, how long until this powder keg explodes? Find out this October as Soule, Lemire and Kuder bring you DEATH OF X #1!
