ZOMBIE SHARK (2015)

Zombie Shark (2015)
Synopsis: A perfect getaway for four friends turns into survival when they fight an experimental shark.

A scientist is upset that she lost helpr brother to a war. He was killed in action from what should not have been a fatal wound. However, he was to far removed from anywhere to get aid so his wound became infected and killed him. She became obsessed with trying to find a way to make our soldiers stronger. Make their wounds regenerate so no other soldiers will die as her brother did. She used a shark to develop this. And much like every other movie like this, the test subject escaped.

This is where the movie takes an interesting turn. The shark whose name is Bruce, paying homage to Jaws (or Finding Nemo) is a zombie. He attacks both people and sharks. And true to the genre, whatever he kills reanimates as a zombie, and whatever they kill do the same, and so on and so on. It was complete with the bad ass head of security who is tasked with capturing the shark and returning him to the lab. This role was cast to Jason London, who was surprisingly convincing in this role that is unlike the characters he normally plays. It becomes clear that capture is not an option and the shark needs to be killed. The people of the island ban together to try to fight them in a very entertaining battle. They rush into the water with anything they could use as a weapon; machetes, bats, weed whackers, etc...

My favorite sub-genre (zombies), check. Killer sharks, check. SyFy, have you been reading my diary again? This movie was awesome from start to finish. There was never a moment where I didn't enjoy what I was watching. With only Sharknado 3 to go, Zombie Shark has vaulted into the top spot for the best Sharknado Week movie so far.
