The movie Annabelleis the preguel to The Conjuring. This movie gives you a bloody account of how Annabelle became to be the evil doll in which she is now.

The movie started out strong. Kept my attention and was an all around great opening. The story of how the doll became cursed fits with the time frame that they were portraying perfectly. After this the movie takes a dive. Very slow for my personal taste. Even found myself laughing at how slow the movie was progressing. Some of the "scares" were classic text book scares....so you knew they were coming.

There was one I will say that was absolutely NOT text book to which I jumped .... and was pleasantly surprised by. Towards the end it picked back up......and was everything I had hoped for. Action, scares and a twist I wasn't expecting.

Visually the movie the movie did fit the the era they were portraying. A few things I didn't like ... The hair cuts on the actors were to modern for the era. There was also too much emphasis on the wife....I would have enjoyed that portion to play through faster and get the action of Annabelle faster. The movie to me would have been even better if they had had James Wan directing this prequel.

But overall.... It's a really good movie worth seeing. Just keep in mind it is a prequel that's based on supposed factual exploits of Ed and Lorraine Warren and also ties into The Conjuring, whose sequel is set to bow in 2016.
