Summary: The
story of a man who wakes up in bed suffering from memory loss after
being in an accident, only to begin to suspect that his wife may not
be his real wife and that a web of lies and deceit deepen inside the
house where he soon finds himself a prisoner.
It's a shame, this movie had the
potential to be a really good film. I wouldn't say it completely
fell flat but it didn't quite capitalize on what it could have been.
Kate Bosworth and Wes Bently did a
fantastic job with what little they had to work with. The movie
crawled along at an unbelievably slow pace which made it very
difficult to stay focused. It was a very psychological movie which I
am normally cool with but in this case it just came off more
confusing. The movie opens with Man and Woman (and yes, that is how
they are listed in credits) riding in a car right before the accident
that leaves Man with amnesia.
The summary and basic description of
this movie plays it out to be a reverse Overboard kind of scenario
where a man gets amnesia and a woman is playing off like they are
married to get something out of him. But if they were together
before the accident, what brought on this Misery style turnaround?
This question was answered at the end but it was such an
anti-climactic plot twist that when it was all finally revealed, I
really couldn't have cared less. In fact, if you pay enough
attention near the end of the movie, you will easily be able to
predict the twist before it happens.
All in all, this was a huge let down.
I was past bored for almost the entire thing.
