FRANK GRILLO, LUKE GRIMES AND ROBERT TAYLOR SET TO STAR IN THE THRILLER “INTO THE ASHES”
Aaron Harvey set to write and direct; Production scheduled in Alabama
It was announced today that Frank
Grillo, Luke Grimes and Robert Taylor have been tapped to
star in the crime thriller INTO THE ASHES, which was written and to be
directed by Aaron Harvey (THE NEIGHBOR, CATCH 44). The film also stars
James Badge Dale and David Cade, and
will be produced by Jamin O’Brien and Daniel Blanc for The Film
Community and by Robert Ogden Barnum and Eric Binns, and by
Grillo and Joe Carnahan's WarParty. INTO THE ASHES will commence production later this month in Alabama.
The film follows Nick (Grimes), an ex-con adjusting to a normal
life in rural Alabama. When a past he thought he left behind comes back
to haunt him, it forces him to come to terms with his current situation
and rectify a relationship he has
with his father-in-law (Taylor) - all the while dealing with the one
person (Grillo) who threatens to pull his world apart.
“Aaron is a truly talented, up and coming filmmaker. We became friends
working together at Annapurna, and this is now my third film with him. I
believe this is his strongest screenplay yet, and the cast he has
assembled speaks for itself,” said producer Barnum.
Grillo is best known for his roles in the CAPTAIN AMERICA
and PURGE franchises along with leads in the critically-acclaimed
DirecTV series KINGDOM and film WHEELMAN for Netflix, which he also
produced. He scored a huge hit last year playing
Big Daddy in the Chinese action blockbuster WOLF WARRIOR 2, a global
box office phenomenon and now the biggest grossing film in Chinese
history. Up next for
Grillo is the brawl thriller “Donnybrook” as well as the
Netflix documentary series “Fight World,” an inside look at fight
culture all over the Globe that Frank produced and stars in.
Grimes is best known for roles in AMERICAN SNIPER and the FIFTY SHADES OF GREY SERIES.
He has also appeared in the features THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN and TAKEN 2.
He will next be seen in the series “Yellowstone” with Kevin Costner, directed by Taylor Sheridan.
Taylor is currently starring on the Netflix hit “Longmire,” and will next appear in Jon
Turteltaub’s MEG alongside Jason Statham. He is also known for previous roles in THE MATRIX and television series including “Ballykissangel.”
