WATCH "IN THE PINES" A SHORT FILM BY MISTY SIMMONS-POTEET! SUPPORT INDEPENDENT FILMAKERS!

"In the Pines" (Written and Directed by Misty Simmons-Poteet) is based on the local folklore of White Co. Tennessee. This short film recreates how the original folktale was told by the late David Lee Poteet, to four of his grandchildren.
Pa (played by John Dugan, Texas Chainsaw Massacre) is interrupted during his afternoon reading by the arrival of his four grandchildren; Amanda (Kiya Simmons), Josh (Cooper Guy), Bee (Holland Guy), and Baby (Scarlett Hicks).
They tell Pa, that they are in trouble for fighting with one another and can't watch television. They ask him to tell them a story instead. He tells the children the story of Adeline (Kailey Angel), Lisette (Chessilyn Angel), Cecil, (Chad Sanders), and Thaddeus (Lee Vervoort).
It's the late 1800's and Adeline and Lisette are two sisters fed up with the amount of time their husbands spend hunting. Cecil and Thaddeus are two brothers at odds over the way they treat their wives. Adeline and Lisette hatch a plan to teach their husbands a lesson, but the lesson the two brothers learn isn't quite what they expected.
