Today is Wednesday which means day 3 of David Moscati. Today we went with an comic book hero. And a pretty decent flick if you ask me. But without any more from me, here is David.
7. What has been a seminal experience?
The best feeling is ...always when I get positive feedback from my peers. When other artists, who are in the same boat as you, reach out to tell you that your doing good or that they like something that your'e doing, that's when you feel the best. Fans, collectors and appreciators all see art through different lenses. When a fellow artist, who understands the undertaking and what goes on behind the scenes shows appreciation... that gives you an overwhelming sense of accomplishment.
8. What work do you most enjoy doing?
I love working on [insert sarcastic gasp here] horror related projects. My brain is drawn just to it like a moth to a flame. I find the visuals to be much more dynamic. The symbolism presents itself in ways that other genres have a more difficult time doing. I think this is a personal attraction as I just love the genre outside work. If I were to really think on it though I would have to say I love traditional illustration. I started off as an illustrator and love the hands-on approach. I love to draw, paint, you name it. When ever I get a chance I always look to a sketchbook to start a project.
9. What memorable responses have you had to your work?
I think the greatest response was that to my Exorcist print. The immediate reaction was overwhelming and I continue to get asked about that work. Including by the director of the film itself. The second best was having Karl Urban personally ask for my Dredd print. Love Karl Urban. Love Dredd.
