The final week of the Madness. Last week was a tough hit for me as I had to take a zero due to work taking a huge amount of my time to watch anything plus if I wanted to off on the Friday before Exhumed Films 24 Hour Horror-thon I had really no choice but to work a lot of the overtime to insure I was one of the few to have off for 3 days. But enough about my drama its time to get down to business!!!
We're Going to Eat You (1980)
A weirdly mix of cannibals and kung fu flick! Not much for a summary cause its was just an odd ball of a decent movie that seemed cheaply made but came off fairly okay.
(Normal points: 2. No Bonus') (total= 2)
Silent Rage (1982)
That rare Chuck Norris film that is actually a science fiction/action/horror film. The film can easily be called a Halloween knock-off.
(Normal points: 2. Killer attacks at night: 3) (total= 5)
Godzilla 1985 (1985)
Pretty much Toho's attempt to give Big G another rebirth and a newer look in costume but the film was lackluster and was filled with product placement that makes viewer go hunh?
(Normal points: 2. Monster attacks at night mostly: 3) (total points= 5)
Martin (1977)
The Romero film that fans love next to his Dead franchise but somewhat boring. Our main character isn't a vampire but loves to drink peoples blood.
(Normal points= 2. killer attacks at night: 3) (total= 5)
Shock Value: The Movie (1968-2014)
Early short films of famed horror directors like Carpenter, O'Bannon, Winkless and Adair. The shorts are filmed from each directors early years at USC. Some boring and dull while one appears to have been the stomping grounds for what would become Don't Answer the Phone.
(normal points= 2) (total= 2)
Night of the Demons (1988)
What happens when a Halloween party goes wrong in a haunted house? All hell breaks loose and that's what happened in this late 80's horror flick.
(Normal points= 2. Supernatural activity =3, Character enters oven to escape willingly= 3, creatures kill at night= 3, main demon is killed by sunlight= 9, character is thrown down chute= 3.)
(total= 23)
Brain Damage (1988)
Frank Henenlotter's sophomore film after Basket Case is a mind blowing tale to be exact that deals with addiction and lays the foundation for his horror-comedy in the future called Frankenhooker.
(normal points= 2. monster reveals itself under darkness= 3.) (total= 5)
Altered States (1980)
A doctor obsessed with his experiments with the mind as he tries to find a different level of consciousness in the brain. In the darkness he opens the door and unleashes visions of death, torment and hell as well as transforming himself into his primal self.
(normal points= 2. character goes into darkness of experimental tank= 3, creature attacks at night= 3, supernatural activity light exploding from tank= 3, part of movie takes place in cave= 3)
(total= 14)
Terrorvision (1986)
That bat shit crazy film from 86 that stars a handful of well known actors from that time period. Hands down a hilarious film and needs to be seen by anyone whose never seen it.
(normal points= 2. no bonus) (total= 2)
Superstition (1982)
Never saw this film til that week. Saw it under a different title (The Witch). Film deals with a witch who placed a curse on a house and kills anyone who so ever enters it.
(normal points= 2. Witch kills mostly at night= 3, Supernatural activity= 3, character is dragged into watery grave= 3.) (total= 11)
The Horror of Party Beach (1964)
An eh kind of film from the 60's and the atomic era. Not much to explain but its a cheesy B-movie that's filled with cheaply made monsters and that era's beach rock.
(normal points= 2. no bonus) (total= 2)
Near Dark (1987)
Perhaps one the best vampire put to film. Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton, Adrian Pasadar, Jenny Wright and Jenette Goldstein all appear in this film from future academy award winner Katheryn Bigelow.
(normal points= 2. Bigelow Bonus= 1, Dark association= 3, character attack at night=3, characters explode in sunlight= 9.) (total= 18)
Piranha 2: The Spawning (1981)
That James Cameron film that he made for Roger Corman. Not a direct sequel of sorts to the original but a nice play on it as our fish go from water killers to airbound kamakazi's. Henriksen pops up again in this film.
(normal points= 2. no bonus) (total= 2)
Army Of Darkness (1992)
The 3rd part of the Evil Dead trilogy. We follow Ash as he is thrown through time after the events of the second film. He ends up in midevial times and has to find the book of the dead to get his way back home but his cockiness and ignorance proves that it becomes slightly harder than expected as comedy ensues.
(normal points= 2. Campbell Bonus= 1, Darkness association= 3, monsters attack at night= 3, part of the film becomes engulfed in darkness= 3, black hole opens in beginning of film= 3, supernatural forces= 3, Ash is thrown into pit= 3) (total= 21)
Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013)
Had a blast finally re-watching this at a friends house in 3D again. Its a nice follow up to take place after Hooper's original practically wiping out the other films of the franchise out.
(normal points= 2. character is brained and dragged into hidden room= 3, Leatherface attacks primarily at night= 3) (total= 8)
The Final Girls (2015)
A parody of slasher films as a young girls world is turned upside down when her mother a former horror actress is killed and she goes to a film event that happens to go wrong and she is sucked into her mothers film and must learn to survive.
(normal points= 2. part of film turns into purplish darkness= 3) (total= 5)
Julia (2014)
A typical revenge flick that's in the veins of I SPit on your grave and ms. 45.
(normal points=2. No bonus) (total= 2)
Shark Night 3D (2011)
Another 3D film that I had the pleasure of watching at a friends house one problem the 3D doesn't make this film any better.
(normal points= 2. no bonus) (total= 2)
The Strain (2015: Season 2)
I watched the last 5 episodes of this past season. Makes me wonder how they can stretch the last book out.
(normal points= 5) (total points= 5)
American Horror Story: Hotel
Watched the latest episode. Have to admit the whole serial killer party was a trip never thought I'd see them have Gacy, Dahmer, Ramirez and the Zodiac killer in the same room.
(Normal points= 1) (total= 1)
