The Canadian horror film recently won the Best Feature Film Award at the 2014 New York City Horror Film Festival
Director Gavin Michael Booth and lead actress Sarah Booth will be in attendance.
D Films, who owns the worldwide rights for the film and also acted as Executive Producer, will release The Scarehouse theatrically in Toronto exclusively at the Royal Cinema for a special two night engagement on December 1st and 2nd, 2014 and on DVD/BR/VOD/EST on January 13, 2015 in Canada.
Recently The Scarehouse has been awarded Best Feature Film at the 2014 New York City Horror Film Festival. The Scarehouse joins the ranks of other terrifying features such as The Dark Hours, Fingerprints, Botched and YellowBrickRoad.
Two friends open a Halloween fun house on Devil's Night, an elaborate party for their former sorority sisters. As these six sisters arrive one by one, they are confronted by a troublesome past. When their hosts' true intentions are revealed, everyone inside The Scarehouse will find out that, indeed, revenge is a bitch.
The Scarehouse features a Canadian cast of up-and-coming actresses including Sarah Booth, Kimberley-Sue Murray, Katherine Barrell, Teagan Vincze, Ivana Stojanovic, Jennifer Miller, Dani Barker and Emily Alatalo.
The Scarehouse had its world premiere on October 5, 2014 in Windsor, Ontario, where the film was shot, and was met with rave reviews from nearly 1000 attendees.
The film is the feature directorial debut from Gavin Michael Booth. Booth made his reputation in the Canadian music industry, having directed and produced over 50 music videos in the past three years, including working with such top artists as Third Eye Blind, Vertical Horizon, Our Lady Peace and The Dream. His latest short film, To Hell, With Love, generated significant buzz and positive critical response on the film festival circuit.
