STARZ ORDERS EVIL DEAD TELEVISION SERIES!!!!!!!

STARZ ORDERS 'EVIL DEAD' SERIES????

Yes, that's right Starz has ordered a television series based on the film franchise that originated in 1981. The series which is going to be named 'Ash vs. Evil Dead' will have original Evil Dead director Sam Raimi, producer Rob Tapert and star Bruce Campbell will return for the 10-episode half-hour series, slated for a 2015 premiere.

Now Raimi and Tapert return to the channel that housed them during their runs on the swords and sandals, blood and tits loosely fact based tv show Spartacus.

Campbell reprises his role as the title character Ash, a stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last three decades avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons — personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its evil grip.

Raimi will direct the pilot, which he will co-write with his brother, Ivan and Tom Spezialy. Raimi will executive produce, along with Tapert and Campbell. Ivan Raimi will co-executive produce, while Aaron Lam (Spartacus) will produce.

With us here there are mixed feelings about this announcement. Mostly based around the half hour time slot they will get as well as feelings of what can you possibly do with this kind of step as compared to making another movie.

Shawn has been quoted:

"I mean what exactly could you do?  I mean if it's done on a pay channel I'll be a little more excited. But the thing is how much of the story can they re-hash and how long before it becomes an anthology show with just the name attached."

His quote changed when I mentioned the show was going to be on Starz.

"And my message is void now and I will watch it."

Rhonda was quoted:

"Evil dead is Evil Dead.. What's it gonna be like...... Friday the 13th the series....I joke sounds like I will give it a try."

Bobby wasn't able to be reached for his feelings and Bucky is skeptical cause he feels the show should have the hour time space as compared to a half hour. To him how much can you really get into 30 mins??? How do you feel about this? Leave a comment if you want to express your feelings.
