FOX confirms Bryan Singer's return for X-Men: Apocalypse!!!!!!!!
X-Men: Days of Future Past filmmaker Bryan Singer is reportedly slated to return for that hit film's sequel, X-Men: Apocalypse.
Singer and Fox have come to an agreement for the director to return for X-Men: Apocalypse, according to Deadline. This will be the fourth X-Men film helmed by Singer, as he previously directed X-Men and X2: X-Men United in addition to Days of Future Past.
Along with directing X-Men: Apocalypse, Singer is writing the film with X-Men: Days of Future Past's Simon Kinberg and X2's Michael Dougherty & Dan Harris. Production is planned to start early next year, with a release date set for May 27, 2016.
X-Men: Apocalypse will take place in the 1980s, a decade after the events of X-Men: Days of Future Past. Deadline says that the events in the previous flick lead to Apocalypse's introduction, setting in place a new powerful enemy for the X-Men to tackle.
James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Evan Peters and Nicholas Hoult are expected to return to their roles from the last two X-Men films. Hugh Jackman is rumored to return as well. Younger versions of older characters are also said to be brought into the film as younger version of Jean Grey, Storm and Cyclops are rumored. Now a younger version of Cyclops was last seen in the X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie. Also confirmed is that Channing Tatum who landed the role of Gambit for a solo film will also be making an appearance in X-Men: Apocalypse.
